There are multiple state-run lakes in the area as well as the private Red Feather Lakes.
Many of the local state lakes allow boating in various capacities; check regulations before heading out. Our personal favorite is Lake Dowdy.
Local lakes include:
Your rental includes use of our personal boating passes . We have two available passes at the home and are allowed to have only two watercraft (only non-motorized) on the water at any time. One guest per craft must be wearing the tag while boating and anyone on the water must be wearing a personal flotation device. These are rules required by the lake management company and failure to follow them may result in a fine for you and us. Any fines we receive will be taken from your security deposit. Please leave tags on the counter when you leave and let us know ASAP if lost or removed.
The only watercraft allowed on the lakes are: oared boats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, float tubes, inflatable pontoon boats and rafts and SUPs. No motorized boats (gas or electric) sail boats or sail boards permitted.
Please leave a note on your dashboard stating "Crow Family" and the boating pass number.
No watercraft of ANY KIND are allowed on: Shagwa(in front of the home), Ramona, and Snake
Located directly in front of the home, Shagwa Lake is one of the private Red Feather Lakes. Shagwa can only be fished on with a guest pass. No swimming, no watercraft (including kayaks, paddle boards etc.). This is one of the most prized lakes in town and recently underwent a major restoration. As such, it is the most protected lake, please obey all signage, they will catch you and they will fine you and us. Any fines we receive will be taken from your damage deposit.
