Red feather is renowned as one of the premier fishing spots in Northern Colorado. There are multiple state-run lakes in the area as well as the private Red Feather Lakes.
There are a number of local state lakes that can be fished. These just require a Colorado Fishing License. You can pick up licenses and fishing supplies at the local bait and tackle stores in the village.
Most of the lakes in town are private and cannot be fished on by the public. These private lakes are well signed. Please do not fish on these lakes without a guest pass (see below). Red Feather Storage and Irrigation manage these lakes and are are very strict and police these lakes on an hourly basis (they will catch you). If you do not have the correct passes they will fine you, and us. Any fines we receive will be taken from your damage deposit. Swimming is prohibited in all of these lakes, for boating information please refer to our boating page.
